BUFFALO, N.Y. — Kenneth D. Suzan, an attorney in Hodgson Russ LLP's Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group, and Joan T. White, manager of library services for Hodgson Russ, recently delivered presentations at a CLE seminar entitled "Select Topics for Legal Staff" held at the Buffalo Conference Center.

The seminar, hosted by Lorman Education Services, was designed to provide legal professionals with information on a variety of topics that may be handled in any given day in a busy law office.

Mr. Suzan's presentation focused on trademark and copyright issues, with topics including definitions of trademarks and copyrights, strategies for selecting a trademark, trademark prosecution issues, securing a copyright registration in the United States, and Internet research tools for trademarks and copyrights. Ms. White spoke about topics related to Internet and computer legal research, including efficient use of the World Wide Web and a review of legal Web sites.

Mr. Suzan's experience includes prosecuting and defending trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, representing and counseling clients on federal trademark litigation matters, and counseling clients on all facets of trademark clearance, prosecution, infringement, licensing, domain name, Internet, and new media matters.

Ms. White is an active member of the American Association of Law Libraries, Association of Law Libraries of Upstate New York, the Special Library Association, and the United States Law Firm Group Law Librarians Committee. She has presented and coordinated programs for the American Association of Law Libraries and has held various elected positions with the Association of Law Libraries of Upstate New York.
