Hodgson Russ Partner Pamela Davis Heilman a Moderator at Ontario Economic SummitOctober 22, 2004 Contact: Lisa Kane TORONTO, ON. — Pamela Davis Heilman, a partner in Hodgson Russ LLP's Corporate & Securities Practice Group and the Firm's vice president for community relations, moderated a panel entitled "Canada/U.S. Relations … Toward a New Partnership Paradigm" at the Ontario Economic Summit, October 6-7, Queen's Landing Hotel, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. The hour-long discussion focused on Ontario's relative competitiveness with its U.S. counterparts, implications of the current political landscape and security issues on relations between Canada and the United States, and the role of the private sector in strengthening cross-border trade. Ms. Heilman was joined on the panel by Gordon Griffin, former U.S. ambassador to Canada; Ron Foxcroft, chairman of Fox 40 International; and the Hon. Joseph Cordiano, minister of economic development and trade for Canada. The mission of the invitation-only summit, which was attended by approximately 150 of Ontario's most prominent CEOs, corporate presidents, and university presidents, was to identify solutions that members of the summit will undertake as priorities to drive the economy of Ontario forward. A member of Hodgson Russ's Canada Practice Group, Ms. Heilman frequently practices out of the Firm's Toronto office.
