Dr. Kadle gave a presentation entitled "Requirements to Obtain a Patent," which provided an overview of the requirements of patentability and addressed ways in which universities businesses and entrepreneurs can maximize protection of their inventions. Dr. Kadle practices in all areas of intellectual property with particular emphasis on patent prosecution and related opinion work in the biotechnology and chemical fields, and licensing. Her areas of focus include immunology, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, therapeutics, veterinary diagnostics, and food chemistry. She actively advises clients on a wide variety of topics related to development of patent portfolios including international protection of inventions and due diligence investigations. She lectures frequently on topics related to patents and licensing. She is also currently adjunct faculty at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law lecturing in the area of patent law. With more than 200 attorneys practicing in all major areas of law, Hodgson Russ is the 205th largest law firm headquartered in the United States, as reported by the National Law Journal. It is one of approximately 100 firms in the country listed in America's Greatest Places to Work With a Law Degree. In addition, Hodgson Russ was recently named one of the country's most admired employers by American Employer Digest.
