BUFFALO, N.Y. — Hodgson Russ LLP was a partner in receiving a $1 million grant from the University at Buffalo School of Public Health Professions to implement employee wellness programs.

As part of the school's Western New York Wellness Works initiative, the results of the programs will be studied to determine their effects on workers and the financial impact of any resulting savings in health care costs for employers. Hodgson Russ was one of 13 companies and institutions selected to share the grant.

"We are very pleased that the UB School of Public Health Professions recognized Hodgson Russ's commitment to the wellness of our employees in selecting us to receive this grant," noted Paul V. Hartigan, Chief Operating Officer at Hodgson Russ. "And we're excited that we can help the school with its research in return."

Hodgson Russ will participate in the program in conjunction with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Western New York. As a condition of the grant, the Firm will match the grant funds for the wellness programs.

With more than 200 attorneys practicing in all major areas of law, Hodgson Russ is the 205th largest law firm headquartered in the United States, as reported by the National Law Journal. It is one of approximately 100 firms in the country listed in America's Greatest Places to Work With a Law Degree. In addition, Hodgson Russ was recently named one of the country's most admired employers by American Employer Digest. The Firm, which was established in 1817 and is among the oldest law firms in the U.S., is the only law firm that can count two former U.S. presidents, Millard Fillmore and Grover Cleveland, among its alumni. The six offices of Hodgson Russ are located in Albany, Buffalo, Johnstown, and New York City, New York; Boca Raton, Florida; and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
