"The values and skills I learned when I was a Girl Scout have served me well throughout the years," Ms. Heilman said. "It is an honor to be part of an organization that continues to be so important in the lives of young women and girls." Ms. Heilman has extensive experience working with not-for-profit organizations of all sizes. She regularly counsels not-for-profit organizations on a wide range of business issues. The Girl Scout Council of Buffalo & Erie County, Inc., is one of more than 300 councils under the auspices of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., the world's largest voluntary organization for girls. Girl Scout programs focus on meeting the needs of girls from diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds. Donations made through this campaign will provide funding for programs, financial assistance for girls in need, recruiting and training of Girl Scout leaders, and maintenance and upgrades for camp facilities.
