Ryan L. Everhart to speak at 2008 School Law Seminar presented by the National School Boards Assoc.
The NSBA Council of School Attorneys is a national network of attorneys representing K-12 public school districts. Formed in 1967, the council aims to continually improve the practice of school law by providing continuing legal education opportunities, networking forums, and legislative and advocacy information to its members. Mr. Everhart concentrates his practice in the area of education and labor law, with particular expertise in special education law. He has successfully represented public school districts in numerous administrative and court proceedings under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Mr. Everhart has also represented schools with regard to investigations by the New York State Education Department and in legal proceedings before the Commissioner of Education. He regularly consults with school districts in matters concerning employee discipline/termination, student residency, and school record confidentiality, among other issues.
