Hodgson Russ Partners With International Business School on Innovative Incubator for Entrepreneurs

December 3, 2010

Hodgson Russ is proud to partner with France-based ESSEC Business School to participate in the university’s Counsel Checks program.

Operated through ESSEC Ventures, the university’s center for entrepreneurship, Counsel Checks allows young entrepreneurs to receive advice on a pro bono basis from authorities in a range of areas, including business planning, fundraising, law, accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, and research and development, among others.

Hodgson Russ partners Carole Aciman and Pierre Cournot, co-leaders of the firm’s France Practice Group, are the lead attorneys for the firm’s partnership with ESSEC.

Ms. Aciman said, “Our firm is delighted to support ESSEC in this innovative venture. We have the utmost admiration for the forward-thinking, global approach ESSEC takes to educating future business leaders. On our side, our attorneys have extensive experience providing U.S. legal representation for French clients with business or personal interests in the United States and for U.S.-based clients doing business in France.

Mr. Cournot added, “This, combined with our representation of numerous start-up and high-growth companies at every stage of their evolution, makes our partnership with ESSEC, we believe, uniquely well suited.”

ESSEC, the Ecole Superieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales, is a premier provider of undergraduate and graduate-level global management education. It has campuses in Cergy-Pontoise and La Défense, France, and in Singapore.
