Alvan L. Bobrow Presents NY Tax Developments for NJ CPAs

Alvan L. Bobrow, a partner in the Hodgson Russ LLP State & Local Tax Practice Group, lectured before the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, July 15, at the organization’s headquarters in Roseland, New Jersey.

Mr. Bobrow’s topic was “Current New York Tax Developments.” The program covered highlights of the recent 2009 legislation adopted in Albany as well as significant local New York City tax law changes. He also covered noteworthy case decisions and administrative rulings that New Jersey practitioners need to be aware of when working on New York matters for their clients. Of particular interest to New Jersey accountants were the New York resident audit guidelines, corporate allocation and apportionment issues, and the current nexus policy within the Tax Department.
