BUFFALO, N.Y. — Three Hodgson Russ LLP attorneys served on the faculty of the New York State Bar Association's (NYSBA) CLE seminar entitled "Bridging the Gap: Intellectual Property," October 26, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Buffalo. The seminar offered an overview of issues often encountered in copyright, trademark, and patent law, including specific challenges that arise in real-world intellectual property matters.

Robert J. Lane, Jr., presented "Misappropriation of Ideas: What to Do Under the Common Law if Statutory Provisions Fail," George L. Snyder offered "Patents: A Primer for Corporate Counsel and Business Lawyers on How to Avoid Common Pitfalls and the Forfeiture of Patent Rights," and Kenneth D. Suzan presented "Trademark Law and the Internet: How to Avoid Trouble Before It Starts."

All three attorneys are members of the Firm's Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group, among other groups. Mr. Lane is vice president of the firm's Dispute Resolution Division and leader of its Securities/Corporate Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Snyder is a registered patent attorney experienced in mechanical and optical technologies. Mr. Suzan's experience includes, among other matters, prosecuting and defending trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
