BUFFALO, N.Y. — Timothy P. Noonan, a senior associate in the Firm's State & Local Tax Practice Group, has been named one of the Daily Record's Up and Coming Attorneys for 2005. He was featured in a special section of the June 1 issue of the Daily Record.
Mr. Noonan is one of eight Western New York attorneys to be honored this year for demonstrating excellence in the legal profession along with a strong commitment to the community. The criteria for this award included having been admitted to the bar for 10 years or less, community involvement and volunteer work, having procured a legally significant result in a recent case, and activity in one or more professional associations.
"Tim's day-to-day achievements here at the Firm are too many to name," notes Hodgson Russ Chair Paul R. Comeau, "and he consistently works at a level beyond all expectations."
Mr. Noonan lectures frequently on New York State and multi-state tax matters. He has also authored a series of articles on state and local taxation. Mr. Noonan and Mr. Comeau received the 2004 Burton Award for Excellence in Legal Writing, presented at the Library of Congress, for their article entitled "Executive Compensation and Employer Withholding: A Closer Look at a Complicated Issue," published in the August 2003 issue of the Journal of Multistate Taxation and Incentives.
Mr. Noonan is active at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Williamsville, New York, and he is the father of six young children.
Founded in 1908, the Daily Record is a daily legal and business news publication serving Western New York.
