BUFFALO, N.Y. — Elizabeth G. Clark, Esq., a partner in Hodgson Russ LLP's Estates & Trusts Practice Group, was honored recently by Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME) at the organization's annual meeting.
Ms. Clark received HOME's highest honor, the James Crawford Award, for outstanding service in the cause of fair housing. She began working with HOME in 1964, when she became chairperson of the group's rental committee and a volunteer tester — which involved inquiring about rental properties and reporting instances of discrimination to the New York State Division of Human Rights. She has since served as a member of HOME's board of directors.
At Hodgson Russ, Ms. Clark focuses her practice on estate planning, elder law, probate and trust law, and guardianships and Medicaid/Medicare law. She is a frequent lecturer on estate and Medicaid planning and on the preparation and implementation of health care declarations.
HOME is a civil rights organization with nearly 500 members which, since 1963, has fought for fair housing in Western New York.
With more than 200 attorneys practicing in all major areas of law, Hodgson Russ is the 205th largest law firm headquartered in the United States, as reported by the National Law Journal. It is one of approximately 100 firms in the country listed in America's Greatest Places to Work With a Law Degree. In addition, Hodgson Russ was recently named one of the country's most admired employers by American Employer Digest. The Firm, which was established in 1817 and is among the oldest law firms in the U.S., is the only law firm that can count two former U.S. presidents, Millard Fillmore and Grover Cleveland, among its alumni. The six offices of Hodgson Russ are located in Albany, Buffalo, Johnstown, and New York City, New York; Boca Raton, Florida; and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
