NEW YORK, N.Y. — Mark A. Harmon, a partner in Hodgson Russ LLP's Business Litigation Practice Group, presented at the Securities Transfer Association's annual conference.
Mr. Harmon's presentation, "Transfer agent litigation and liability: The perils and pitfalls of canceling shares," was part of the three-day conference, held October 17-20 in Amelia Island, Florida. Mr. Harmon presented transfer litigation case studies to assist agents in recognizing where potential exposures exist and how to reduce the risk of litigation and financial loss. This was Mr. Harmon's third consecutive year speaking at this conference.
Mr. Harmon's practice, which is concentrated in business and real estate litigation, includes providing advice to financial institutions and transfer agents and representing them in court proceedings dealing in securities-related issues. He also represents group homes and schools providing services to the multiply disabled.
