Hodgson Russ LLP announces five new partners


BUFFALO, N.Y. — Hodgson Russ LLP is pleased to announce that the following attorneys have been elected to the firm's partnership: Timothy P. Noonan, David G. Reed, Jeffrey C. Stravino, and Jeffrey J. Weiss of the Buffalo office and Brian K. Duffey of the Boca Raton office.

Timothy P. Noonan, a member of the State & Local Tax Practice Group, focuses his practice in New York State and City tax issues and tax dispute resolution. Mr. Noonan lectures frequently on New York State and multistate tax matters and is on the faculty of the Institute of Continuing Professional Education. He is also the author of numerous articles on state and local taxes in publications such as The Trusted Professional, State Tax Notes, Journal of Multistate Taxation, and Canadian Tax Highlights.

David G. Reed, a member of the Corporate and Securities Practice Group, represents public and private companies in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate reorganizations, and general corporate law matters.

Jeffrey C. Stravino, of the Business Litigation Practice Group, concentrates his practice in the area of commercial and business litigation, including environmental litigation and intellectual property litigation. Mr. Stravino has represented both large and small companies in shareholder, software, accounting, and complex contract disputes in federal and state court at both the trial and appellate levels. Prior to joining Hodgson Russ, Mr. Stravino served as Confidential Law Clerk to the Honorable John T. Curtin, Senior United States District Judge for the Western District of New York.

Jeffrey J. Weiss, a member of the Labor & Employment and Education Law Practice Groups, concentrates his practice in special education law. With extensive litigation experience, Mr. Weiss frequently represents school districts in impartial due process hearings. He also regularly counsels school districts on their duties and responsibilities under the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Mr. Weiss frequently lectures to school district personnel on topics in special education law. His practice also includes representing employers in administrative and court proceedings.

Brian K. Duffey, of the Estates & Trusts Practice Group, concentrates his practice in estate planning, probate, and real estate. He has experience in the areas of probate administration, family business succession planning, buy-sell agreements, Florida Homestead and Elective Share disputes, preparation of federal and Florida estate, gift, and fiduciary tax returns and has represented fiduciaries in trust and estate mediation and litigation proceedings.
