Hodgson Russ’s False Claims Act Practice Group is a team of attorneys and paraprofessionals with substantial experience with the federal False Claims Act and the nearly identical New York State False Claims Act, recently enacted into law. The False Claims Act team of experienced attorneys includes former federal and state prosecutors, former government attorneys, and practice area practitioners in fields such as health care and government procurement.

The firm’s interdisciplinary approach to False Claims Act cases and our substantive depth in critical risk areas is enhanced by our representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in False Claims Act causes. As a result, the team has a thorough understanding of those factors relevant to a successful False Claims Act case. Few other firms are capable of bringing this type of balanced expertise and experience to a case.

By way of example, our False Claims Act experience includes the defense of hospitals, home health agencies, physicians, and nursing homes in both criminal and civil False Claims Act investigations. We have also represented various defense contractors in matters involving allegations of procurement fraud and pricing disputes. Under the False Claims Act our attorneys have successfully represented a variety of whistleblowers in cases involving, for example, pharmaceutical company fraud, medical device fraud, and government procurement fraud of various types.
