Areas of Practice: Health and hospital law; corporate law

Professional Experience: Ms. Hills focuses her practice on health care reimbursement and regulatory and compliance matters. She represents providers in Medicare and Medicaid audits and rate appeals, including appeals before the Provider Reimbursement Review Board, and assists clients with third party payor reimbursement issues. Ms. Hills offers counseling to academic medical centers on reimbursement issues, including indirect and direct graduate medical education issues and clinical research issues. Ms. Hills assists FDA-regulated industries with domestic and foreign regulatory compliance. She advises health care and FDA clients on specific compliance questions and works with providers to establish compliance programs. Ms. Hills has experience in the areas of fraud, illegal remuneration, Stark Law, False Claims Act, and civil sanctions. She also practices in the area of privacy law, concentrating on HIPAA and EU data protection issues.

Professional Associations: Ms. Hills is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society.

Presentations/Articles: Ms. Hills serves on the editorial advisory board of Medical Devices Law & Industry Report, a publication of the Bureau of National Affairs. She lectures frequently on topics in her areas of concentration, most recently speaking at a New York State False Claims Act seminar and acting as moderator at a Buffalo Niagara Partnership health law forum. Most recently, Ms. Hills co-authored "Foreign Corrupt Practices Act: High Risks for the Medical Device Industry," Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry, March 2008.
