75-Turbine, 112.5 MW Wind Energy Project in Western New York

Client Type: Privately held

Hodgson Russ advised the developer on all legal aspects of the permitting and financing of multiple wind energy projects, including a 75-turbine, 112.5 megawatt wind energy project in Western New York. Our work included obtaining environmental impact review approval, obtaining land use permits, defending the company in lawsuits from opposing neighbors, serving as local finance counsel, handling real estate issues, representing the developer in connection with the local IDA, and handling tax matters related to the project. The project provides enough power for more than 50,000 homes and also includes 20 miles of access roads, an electric collection system, and a substation.
