Environmental Health and Safety Enforcement - Preparing For and Handling Government Regulatory and Enforcement Contact

November 16
2016
Seminar
Hodgson Russ LLP, The Guaranty Building, Buffalo, NY
November 16, 2016
8:30 - 10:00 a.m.

In this world of ever-changing environmental, health and safety laws, regulations, and requirements, it has become increasingly complicated and difficult to manage risk and to know how to best respond when the government contacts you, your company or its employees.

There is a renewed, more aggressive approach to investigations, with a focus on individuals specifically. Increased civil and criminal enforcement actions require that businesses vigilantly prepare for and manage government interaction. This presentation will help you recognize and mitigate potential liabilities in advance of government contact, discuss how to respond when USEPA, NYSDEC, OSHA, or another governmental entity contacts you or your company, outline best practices for what to do when these agencies conduct site audits and cover how to handle subsequent enforcement proceedings that may follow.
