New York State School Boards Association 92nd Annual Convention

Members of Hodgson Russ's Education Law Practice presented at the New York State School Board Association’s 92nd Annual Convention & Education Expo, held October 27-30 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

• Elizabeth D. Carlson presented “Technology in the Schools—Navigating the Legal Minefields,” which covered topics including the impact of social media on policy, cyberbullying, and the preservation of electronically stored documents.
• David A. Farmelo discussed the issues facing school districts as they must negotiate numerous new subjects in connection with the new teacher and principal evaluation system on the panel “Teacher and Principal Evaluations—New Negotiation Challenges.”
• Karl W. Kristoff discussed best practices regarding board/superintendent relationships on a panel entitled “Golden Rules for the School Governance Team.”
