Hugh M. Russ Named Liaison Counsel for Flight 3407 Crash Victims’ Families

June 11, 2009

Hugh M. Russ, III, a partner at the law firm Hodgson Russ LLP, has been appointed liaison counsel by and for the group of attorneys who are representing the families of Continental Airlines Flight 3407 victims. The appointment was made this week at a meeting of the attorneys.

Flight 3407 crashed in Clarence, New York, on February 12. Since February, Russ has been the lead attorney for the Hodgson Russ team representing the families of five of the victims. In his new role, Russ will act as primary spokesperson for all of the plaintiffs and will handle various administrative duties.

Russ said, “It is greatly rewarding to be able to offer some measure of comfort to all of the Flight 3407 families as they grieve. Our challenge as their attorneys is to provide unparalleled legal representation and support as our litigation teams help assure this kind of tragedy never occurs again.”

Russ, who leads Hodgson Russ’s Torts, Insurance & Products Liability Practice Group, has extensive trial experience in product liability and negligence cases like this one. He is assisted by Paul I. Perlman, who has over thirty years of experience in complicated federal court litigation and is also a licensed pilot and plane owner. The Hodgson Russ team also includes other litigators, trusts and estates attorneys, and business attorneys.
