Hodgson Russ President Robert B. Conklin Honored by Buffalo Law Review

April 22, 2005

Hodgson Russ LLP President Robert B. Conklin was honored by the Buffalo Law Review in recognition of his service to the University at Buffalo Law School and the Western New York community at the 16th annual Buffalo Law Review dinner, April 21, the Buffalo Club.

Mr. Conklin received his juris doctor degree cum laude from the University at Buffalo Law School, State University of New York, in 1968. He was a senior member of the Buffalo Law Review in 1967-68.  Mr. Conklin is a member of the law school's Dean's Advisory Council (DAC), a group that assists the dean and faculty in the development of policies and plans for the law school. As a member of the DAC, he introduced the Mentoring Program for first-year law students, who are paired with professional members of Buffalo's legal community. According to University at Buffalo Law School Dean Nils Olsen, "Mentors offer advice and assistance to law students as they embark on their legal careers. Without Bob Conklin's support, this program would not have been launched."

Mr. Conklin focuses his practice in both business and employment litigation. As a senior trial partner, he has trial experience in complex business, insurance, railroad, product liability, and employment discrimination litigation.

The quarterly Buffalo Law Review, a publication of the University at Buffalo Law School, published its first issue in 1951 and is considered one of the most prestigious legal publications in the world.

With more than 200 attorneys practicing in all major areas of law, Hodgson Russ is the 205th largest law firm headquartered in the United States, as reported by the National Law Journal. It is one of approximately 100 firms in the country listed in America's Greatest Places to Work With a Law Degree. In addition, Hodgson Russ was recently named one of the country's most admired employers by American Employer Digest.
