Bob is leader of the firm's Securities/Directors & Officers Litigation Practice.

Bob practices in the area of commercial and business-related litigation, with a focus on securities litigation and intellectual property litigation. His securities litigation practice includes the representation of issuers and shareholder groups in corporate governance disputes and merger and proxy contests, and public corporations and partnerships in derivative litigation. He has represented broker-dealers in court and arbitration proceedings, as well as in proceedings before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He has also conducted internal corporate investigations involving allegations of accounting improprieties and has represented issuers in investigations by the SEC and the U.S. Attorney. He represents accounting firms in malpractice actions and in professional conduct proceedings before the SEC.

Bob’s intellectual property litigation experience includes patent infringement matters involving both utility and design patents, trademark and Lanham Act disputes, and litigation involving trade secrets and the misappropriation of ideas and concepts. Bob has argued patent appeals before the Federal Circuit and has tried patent infringement, trade secret, and misappropriation of idea cases.

Bob has extensive appellate experience, both in the federal and state court systems. In addition, he is on the board of arbitrators for both the American Arbitration Association and FINRA.

Bob is a member of the Patrick P. Lee Foundation board of directors. He has served as trustee of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (WNY Chapter) and as a board member of the SUNY Buffalo Law School Alumni Association and the Erie County Bar Foundation.
