Three-Week Damages Trial in Brooklyn Yields “No-Cause” Jury Verdict for Hodgson Russ Client

Hodgson Russ successfully represented the defendant in a personal injury case. Following the plaintiff’s successful motion for summary judgment on liability based on the mechanics (i.e., rear-end collision) of the motor vehicle accident at issue, a damages-only trial ensued. The plaintiff sought damages of more than $1 million for pain and suffering and lost wages caused by a cervical disc herniation allegedly sustained in the accident, which required an invasive laminectomy with surgical complications. Fortunately for Hodgson Russ's client, Christian J. Soller successfully convinced the jury that the plaintiff’s injuries may have been caused by a subsequent motor vehicle accident in which the plaintiff was involved two years after the accident at issue. The judge ruled in favor of our client.
