Tri-State Business Tax Update: Reviewing SALT developments in the business tax arena in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut

The Tri-State income tax universe has undergone several significant changes in the last year. Corporations, pass-through entities, their owners and employees face new challenges and opportunities as a result of these changes. This webcast will provide an overview of recent developments in New York State, New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut in response to the Federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and in the taxation of various entity types. Topics discussed will include New York’s Employer Compensation Expense Tax, updates to corporate tax reform in New York and New York City, Connecticut’s new pass-through entity tax, and New Jersey’s sweeping corporate tax changes. The implications of the Supreme Court’s Wayfair decision on state income and sales taxes will also be discussed. In addition, we will provide an overview and comparison of each state’s abandoned property laws, a frequently overlooked obligation and audit risk for businesses.
