After years of court challenges, NJ was successful in having the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (1992) declared unconstitutional. The ruling was a landmark for the field of sports betting and returned to the states the ability to authorize, or prevent, sports betting within their borders. Several states have started such betting and others are expected to follow in 2019 and still more in 2020. Sports Betting will impact existing gaming laws in each of the 50 states and be legalized in a majority of them.

Please join Hodgson Russ Gaming Industry Leader Bob McLaughlin as he reviews the slow regulatory movement toward full legalized sports betting in the US. Focus will be on an analysis of the current and future trends regarding internet, mobile and land based games. Fantasy sports will be considered for their impact and whether IFS can survive in light of sports betting. Finally, the impact of the Federal Wire Act and the revival of RAWA will be discussed.
