This seminar is designed for municipal officials of all experience levels who make zoning and planning decisions in their communities. We will review the basics of the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), the Open Meetings Law (OML), and the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), and will provide best practices for municipal boards as they navigate their approval processes.
We will also discuss small wireless facilities and the issues facing many municipalities as wireless providers seek to deploy new technology. This will include a discussion of the September FCC Order, current litigation, use of rights-of-way, license/permit fees, community and industry viewpoints and positions, and best practices for efficient regulation.
