Daniel C. Oliverio Appointed Fiscal Stability Authority Chair by Governor

February 12, 2010

New York State Governor David Paterson has appointed Daniel C. Oliverio chair of the Erie County Fiscal Stability Authority (ECFSA). Oliverio replaces former chair Robert Glasser.

Oliverio, a partner at Hodgson Russ in the law firm’s Dispute Resolution and Intellectual Property Practice Groups, has served as ECFSA’s vice chair since last July.

“I am very happy that Dan has accepted the chairmanship position,” said Ken Kruly, ECFSA’s Finance Committee chair. “He has shown the kind of commitment and leadership this board and this community need. We are looking forward to working with the county to improve its financial condition under Dan’s leadership.”

Oliverio said, “I want to thank the governor for this appointment. I look forward to working with the board and with county officials on behalf of the residents and taxpayers of Erie County.”

The ECFSA was created in 2005 by then-Governor George Pataki in the wake of Erie County’s financial crisis. The seven-member board oversees the county’s finances.

Oliverio is among Hodgson Russ's practice leaders in both civil business litigation and white-collar criminal and regulatory matters, including corporate investigations and compliance. He has also appeared in numerous Federal False Claims Act cases on behalf of both relators and defendants.
