Will we hash out blockchain patents for the next decade?

Remember the internet when it was still the World Wide Web? Think back to when you had dial-up. Online shopping was in its infancy. Social networks consisted of message boards or AOL Instant Messenger. Online banking was a pipe dream.

Blockchain and other distributed ledger technologies are at a similar point in development. There are countless players in the blockchain research or application space, but widespread embrace is years away. Like the early World Wide Web, blockchain, while potentially groundbreaking, is just starting to show what it can do.
