Terry focuses his practice on large, multifaceted commercial real estate development projects. He heads both the firm's College & University Practice and Public-Private Partnership Practice, and has significant experience in student housing development, construction and financing, hotel acquisition and financing transactions, public/private partnerships, nonprofit-sponsored real estate development projects, historic preservation matters, sports facility leasing and development, industrial development agency projects, commercial real estate financing transactions, and commercial leasing. Terry also devotes a substantial portion of his practice to construction law matters, regularly representing owners and developers in construction and architect contract negotiations.

Terry is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys and the American Bar Association.

From 2002 to 2006, he served as an outside director to a publicly traded, NASDAQ-listed company—a position that culminated in his chairing the board committee responsible for negotiating the sale of the company through a tender offer. Beginning in 2010, Terry has served as a guest lecturer on construction law matters for the University at Buffalo School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
