Hodgson Russ LLP, The Business Journals Launch “Thought Leaders in Law and Business” Podcast

Hodgson Russ Press Release
August 9, 2023

Hodgson Russ LLP is pleased to announce the launch of its third podcast, “Thought Leaders in Law and Business,” which is presented in partnership with The Business Journals.

“Thought Leaders in Law and Business” takes a close look at our nation’s pressing issues, from the financial health of banking institutions to the legalization of marijuana and state residency taxes. In each episode, Hodgson Russ attorneys and Buffalo Business First Publisher John Tebeau break down hot-button issues and how they affect our communities.

In the premier episode, Hodgson Russ Partner Aaron M. Saykin and John Tebeau discuss recent Supreme Court decisions involving First Amendment rights and help decipher which cases are most significant for business leaders. From freedom of speech to defamation of character and fair use of copyrighted images, high-profile cases are constantly in the news. Aaron and John take an in-depth look at how the Supreme Court’s decisions impact businesses, individuals, and the community. They also take a close look at the possibility of updating Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. Enacted in the 1990s, it shields online platforms – like Google, Yelp, Twitter, and Facebook – from legal liability for posts published by their users. In the current political and social climates, it is one of the most cited and contested statutes in the United States.

New episodes will be published every-other Wednesday on The Business Journals’ website. Episodes can also be found on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, or wherever you get your podcasts.
