Many schools encourage student entrepreneurship, but it can cause immigration challenges for foreign-born entrepreneurs. In this session, Hodgson Russ immigration attorney, David Wilks, and co-presenter, Linda Gentile of Carnegie Mellon University, discuss entrepreneurship during school (self-employment issues, unpaid work, offer of credit), immigration strategies after graduation, and approaches for advising U.S. students and professors about the impact of immigration.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion, participants will be able to issue-spot immigration problem areas for foreign national entrepreneurs.
  • Learn to describe work authorization concerns and possible solutions for foreign national entrepreneurs
  • Upon completion, participants will be able to describe to U.S. students and professors immigration considerations for their foreign national partners or students.

A recording of the webinar is accessible until July 31, 2020 and can be viewed here.
