Hodgson Russ announces Heidi J. Sorvino and Carmine J. Castellano have joined Hodgson Russ in the law firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Commercial Litigation Practice Group, Ms. Sorvino as a partner and Mr. Castellano as a senior associate. Both are resident in the law firm’s New York office.   Ms. Sorvino represents business entities, debtors, and secured creditors—including banks, financial institutions, hedge funds, creditors' committees, distressed debt investors, and indenture trustees—in complex bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, corporate restructurings, and related litigation. Her extensive experience includes Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases, non-bankruptcy workouts; the acquisition, financing, and disposition of real estate; cash collateral orders; debtor-in-possession financing; automatic stay relief; plan negotiations; sales of assets; preference and fraudulent conveyance actions; and trading in claims. Ms. Sorvino has appeared as a guest on Reuters Television, Bloomberg TV, and Fox Business News to provide commentary on and explain bankruptcy issues to audiences. She has also has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Crain's New York Business, and Dow Jones Newswire.


Mr. Castellano's practice includes a wide variety of complex commercial litigation involving business torts, intellectual property, trade secret misappropriation, product liability, and various breach of contract disputes. He also has experience in bankruptcy litigation. He has recently led the preparation and litigation of adversary proceedings on behalf of Chapter 11 debtors involved in the real estate industry.
