Hodgson Russ LLP Names Co-Leaders of Immigration Practice

Hodgson Russ LLP has named Partners Chelsea N. Latta and David J. Wilks co-leaders of the firm’s Immigration Practice.

Chelsea represents clients in all areas of employment-based immigration, including temporary nonimmigrant visas as well as permanent residence cases. She advises companies of all sizes – including those in the technology, manufacturing, financial services, and higher education industries – on short- and long-term solutions for their foreign national employees in the United States. She also assists global corporations in developing and enhancing their company-wide immigration programs.

Chelsea is known for her success in winning approvals for individuals under the “outstanding researcher” and “extraordinary ability” visa categories. In addition, she has been recognized by Upstate New York Super Lawyers for her work.

David guides companies, nonprofit organizations, universities, and entrepreneurs in preparing and submitting non-immigrant (temporary) and immigrant (permanent residence) petitions. He also assists foreign medical degree recipients in obtaining waivers and lawful status, as well as individuals in obtaining marriage-based permanent residence and U.S. citizenship.

David is an Elected Director for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Board of Governors and has also served on national committees. In addition, he has been listed in Best Lawyers in America, Upstate New York Super Lawyers, and received the AILA Joseph Minsky Young Lawyer Award. David is often a featured speaker at immigration conferences and has written various articles on immigration law which have appeared in Benders’ Immigration Bulletin, ILW.com, the National Law Review, and various publications of AILA.

Chelsea and David lead the firm’s Immigration Practice have significant experience preparing successful petitions and applications in the H-1B, L-1, E-1/E-2, O-1, P-1, and TN visa categories as well as all employment-based green card matters. In addition, it represents clients on a number of matters, including Mexican and Canadian professionals seeking to work under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA); foreign companies expanding or relocating to the United States; and managers or skilled professionals who seek to work in the United States periodically.
