Hodgson Russ Press Release

Hodgson Russ LLP partners, Daniel Spitzer and Charles Malcomb, have been recognized in the 2021 JD Supra Readers' Choice Awards, which acknowledges top authors and firms that had articles or posts read by C-suite executives, in-house counsel, media, and other professionals across the JD Supra platform during 2020. This year, the awards recognize authors for their visibility and thought leadership covering 28 key, cross-industry topics (10 authors per category), and firms for their visibility and engagement in the 28 topics covered by the awards (one firm per category).

Recognized by JD Supra for his authorship in the energy field, Dan concentrates his practice on issues involving environmental law, renewable energy, sustainable development, land use law, municipal law, and real estate development, representing many municipalities, developers, land owners, and financing entities. From project inception through successful litigation, Dan’s work includes some of the largest wind farms in the eastern United States; multiple utility and small-scale solar projects; and landfill, gas-to-energy, biomass, storage, transmission, and energy efficiency projects. In addition, he successfully litigated a case of first impression concerning a municipality's right to regulate power-generating facilities based on greenhouse gas emissions.

Chuck concentrates his practice on environmental law, energy law, land-use law, municipal law, real estate development, and legal issues involving industrial development agencies. He has experience working with private and public clients on issues involving both state and federal environmental statutes, and assists municipalities with a wide range of legal issues, including environmental review and zoning. A primary area of his work focuses on the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) where he has extensive experience guiding municipalities and developers through its requirements. Successful projects include environmental assessments for large-scale telecommunications projects, power generation projects (including some of the largest wind farms in the eastern United States and both utility and small-scale solar projects), infrastructure improvements, and public and private developments, from project inception through successful litigation. JD Supra recognized Chuck for his authorship in the environmental field.
