
Julia Ji is a Senior Associate in Hodgson Russ’ Corporate & Business Practice, based in the firm’s Toronto office. She advises public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, governance matters, and other strategic corporate transactions, with a particular focus on cross-border considerations between the United States and Canada.
In this role, Julia draws on her experience advising clients on U.S. and Canadian transactions involving M&A, private equity investments, financings, restructurings, and related regulatory and securities compliance matters. She regularly works on cross-border transactions and brings a practical understanding of the legal, regulatory, and commercial considerations facing clients operating across jurisdictions.
Prior to joining Hodgson Russ, Julia was a Senior Associate at KPMG Law LLP in Toronto, where she advised private corporate clients on a variety of corporate matters. Prior to her role at KPMG Law LLP, Julia was an associate at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP in Los Angeles where she worked on M&A and reorganization transactions, governance matters, and shareholder issues. Her work included drafting and negotiating key transaction documents, as well as managing all aspects of deal execution and coordination.
