As part of the New York State Bar Association Annual Meeting, several of our attorneys presented CLEs on current legal issues and topics.

Amy D’Ambrogio and Henry Zomerfeld presented a CLE with Assistant Attorney General Sharon Sash titled: “Case Studies & Updates: Ownership, Use and Taxability of Not-for-Profit Owned Real Property Interests.” Amy and Henry discussed the Real Property Tax Law Section 420-a exemption for nonprofits, the process of obtaining and retaining the exemption, pitfalls to avoid, and case law developments. This was for the NYSBA Real Property Section Committee on Not-for-Profit Entities and Concerns.

Dan Spitzer presented a CLE titled: “Regulation and Explanation of Battery Storage.” Dan covered a number of topics including how battery storage works from the technical perspective, zoning battery storage, and incorporating battery storage into communities as part of grid resilience.
