February 28, 2013

Joseph P. Goldberg, a partner at the law firm Hodgson Russ LLP, has been appointed chair of the National Bar Association of India (NBAI) International Section’s New York Chapter.

Mr. Goldberg serves as outside general counsel for various U.S. public and private companies, providing advice on corporate, partnership, trademark, intellectual property, employment law, and other matters. He also represents numerous Indian clients, including India-based companies, with respect to U.S. operations and serves as a strategic and financial consultant for Indian companies seeking financing opportunities and investors in the United States. He represents clients in all phases of federal and state civil litigation, U.S. and international arbitrations, and government regulatory and enforcement proceedings. He has successfully tried and argued cases nationwide and overseas.

The membership of the NBAI International Section consists of a broad cross section of Indian lawyers engaged in international corporate and business practice. The NBAI, a voluntary, non-political organization, seeks to provide an opportunity for Indian lawyers to interact with lawyers from other jurisdictions around the world to 1) enable their Indian clients to be effectively represented abroad and for clients of lawyers from other jurisdictions to be effectively represented in India and 2) provide an opportunity for lawyers from other jurisdictions to learn about the Indian legal system and for Indian lawyers to learn about the legal systems in other countries.
