Melissa N. Subjeck Among Business First’s 40 Under Forty

Press Release
August 11, 2014

Melissa N. Subjeck, a senior associate in Hodgson Russ's Business Litigation Practice, has been honored as one of Business First's 40 Under Forty for 2014.

The 40 honorees, nominated by Business First readers and selected by an independent committee, were chosen for their outstanding achievements as well as their commitment to the Western New York community. The winners are young leaders in various segments of the Buffalo Niagara business community.

Melissa received her J.D. from SUNY Buffalo Law School and concentrates her practice at Hodgson Russ in complex contract and business disputes; accounting and legal malpractice matters; and intellectual property matters, including patent, trademark, and trade secret litigation. As an owner, breeder, and experienced rider of several national champion horses, Melissa is also well versed in and uniquely positioned to practice equine law.

Melissa’s community involvement includes her roles as a member of the National Federation for Just Communities of Western New York board of directors and as a co-chair of that organization’s annual fundraising event, the Dash for Diversity. Melissa also serves on event planning committees for Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo. Additionally, she is an active mentor for the SUNY Buffalo Law School mentoring program and the Prelaw Undergraduate Scholars Program, a SUNY Buffalo Law School/Minority Bar Association of WNY program focused on introducing minority students and first-generation college students to the practice of law.
