Hugh M. Russ on the Admission of Disputed Evidence in Flight 3407 Lawsuits
Hugh M. Russ, III was quoted by the Wall Street Journal, Buffalo News, and WKBW on U.S. District Court Judge William Skretney's decision to allow both an independent audit of Colgan Air's safety procedures and the testimony of a Federal Aviation Administration official who worked with Colgan to be admitted as evidence in lawsuits filed against the airline by the families of some of the victims of Flight 3407, which crashed in Clarence Center, NY, in 2009. The story was also covered by the Associated Press in newspapers throughout the country.
“I can’t believe that it will do anything other than enhance the personal damage claims if, as we suspect, the audit supports our view that Colgan regularly flew planes with tired or fatigued pilots and that its training was deficient and its manuals were deficient,” Mr. Russ told the media outlets.
