Bar Association of Erie County Seminar: Defending Police Officers and Municipalities Against Civil Rights Claims 

At this event, Michael B. Risman and Jeffrey T. Fitu discussed how to successfully defend police officers and municipalities against civil rights claims, including false arrest and use of force claims. In addition to covering the fundamentals of civil rights litigation in both state and federal court, their presentation provided tips and strategies for obtaining and preserving evidence, building a defense, and limiting municipal liability.
