A New York State Supreme Court judge recently issued a decision that originally appeared to void most of the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act, which regulates the state’s cannabis industry. The judge then narrowed the move to focus on the state’s marketing ban.
The decision came in response to a lawsuit filed by Leafly Inc., after it was prevented from including an ad for the Buffalo-based Cannabis dispensary on its website. Leafly is a company that helps consumers shop for and compare cannabis products and find dispensaries.
Patrick J. Hines was interviewed by Spectrum News regarding this decision. He gave insight and analysis on what it could mean for the industry in New York State.
