Accolades for Guarunty Building From Preservation Conference Attendees, Media
The Guaranty Building, Hodgson Russ’s historic headquarters, garnered much-deserved praise and media attention in the weeks leading up to and during the four-day National Preservation Conference, held this year in Buffalo, NY.
The conference, organized by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, drew thousands from across the country and around the world to view Buffalo’s most culturally significant architectural landmarks, including the Guaranty Building. Conference attendees were given the opportunity to tour the first and second floors and attend a lecture on the firm’s significant restoration of the property.
Designed by master architect Louis Sullivan and completed in 1895, the steel-frame constructed, terra cotta-clad Guaranty Building is considered a gem of American architecture and a forerunner of the modern skyscraper.
