Michael B. Risman. Daniel A. Spitzer, and Jeffrey F. Swiatek  spoke at the 2012 Training School & Annual Meeting presented by the Association of Towns of the State of New York, February 19-22.

Mike provided an analysis of recent assessment-related case law for assessors, supervisors, and town board members in his presentation, “Assessment-Related Case Law Update.”

Jeff discussed human resources management issues facing town governments on a panel entitled “Hot Buttons: Personnel Issues for Every Town,” and he discussed the pros and cons of using alternative labor solutions for town services in his solo presentation, “Full-Time, Part-Time, and Independent Contractors: When They Make Sense.”

Dan provided an analysis of the laws and procedures applicable to the annexation of one municipality’s land by another in his presentation, “Municipal Annexation.”

The Association of Towns of the State of New York provides member towns with services and programs to help them obtain greater economy and efficiency.
